VIOLET is the debut original song of Ninomae Ina'nis, a VTuber talent under hololive English's first generation "-Myth-". As creative director of this project, LMNQ was responsible for lyrics, MV direction, editing, and worldbuilding — shaping the entire visual and narrative identity of the single from concept through delivery.
The project centered on expressing the duality of Ina's character: the gentle, warm personality fans see on stream versus the dark, mysterious priestess of the Ancient Ones from her lore. The result was a melancholic piece built around the theme of loving something that cannot last — an emotion familiar to both the character and her audience.

process
From character study to visual narrative
The creative process began with deep research into Ina's character lore and streaming persona. Unlike other hololive EN members at the time, Ina's character carried distinctly darker undertones — a Lovecraftian priestess with ties to ancient, unknowable entities. This contrast between her gentle on-stream personality and her mysterious lore became the foundation of VIOLET's narrative direction.
The lyrics were structured around the concept of an ancient being experiencing love in a way that is inherently impermanent. Numbers embedded throughout the MV (403, 520, 913, 1016, 1129) serve as coded references meaningful to the creative team. The interlude features whispered words in a constructed language designed specifically for this project — a detail that extended the worldbuilding beyond the music itself into something fans could discover and decode.
The MV was crafted to complement Ina's own illustrations, layering motion graphics and typographic elements over her artwork to create a cohesive visual flow that matched the emotional arc of the composition.

VIOLET reached one million views on YouTube within nine days of release, establishing itself as a landmark debut in the hololive English catalog. It remains the only hololive original song where the vocalist also illustrated the music video — a testament to the deeply collaborative nature of the project.
The single was later included in Ninomae Ina'nis's 1st EP "re:VISION" and has been performed live at multiple hololive concerts including her 3D debut showcase. A Eurobeat remix by TurboA was featured in the Hololive English Eurobeat Remix Album, and a cover by Houshou Marine appeared in the Hololive Shuffle Medley 2024.
